- 14 - 20 January 2002 - Barbados Jazz Festival - some of the world's best talent in a week long explosion of jazz.
- 5 March 2002 - Holder's Opera season begins - a unique celebration of opera, music and theatre, major event on the world cultural calendar.
- 30 March - 1 April 2002 - Oistins Fish Festival - celebrates the life and contribution made by this fishing town to the overall development of the island. The programme includes fishing, boat racing, fish boning competitions, a Coast Guard Exhibition, food stalls, arts and crafts, dancing, singing and road races.
- 22 April 2002 - Congaline Street Festival begins - a nine-day carnival, daily exhibition forum and marketplace for a myriad of free entertainment and local articrafts and culture.
- 19 May 2002 - Celtic Festival - an annual celebration of culture as Celtic people from around the world visit Barbados for their annual gymanfa-ganu and other events including sports.
- 19-26 May 2002 - Gospelfest - An international festival that attracts major Gospel talent mainly from the USA, UK and the Caribbean.
- 22 - 27 May 2002 - The Barbados African-American Film Festival
- 13 July - 5 Aug 2002 - Crop Over Festival - originally a celebration at the end of the sugar cane harvest season, it's Barbados' most popular and colourful festival. Folk concerts, calypso competitions, carnival parades - a spectacular time!
- 20 -26 October - Blowing in de Windies - Public Schools Caribbean Rugby Tournament - Under 19 & Public Schools Band Festival. Schools are invited from USA, South Africa, Canada and UK.
- October 2002 - Pan in Paradise - International steelband competition for juniors. Groups expected from US, Holland, Switzerland, Japan, Florida and Caribbean.
- 1 November 2002 - National Independence Festival of Creative Arts
